Which are the fastest growing e-commerce countries in Latin America?

Not many years ago, people thought twice before making online purchases, for fear of the security of their data, but today it is not even questioned. Shopping through e-commerce has become a commonplace action for people. And this is demonstrated by the figures that show the growth of e-commerce in Latin America.

According to Forbes, during 2021 e-commerce will grow about 5 times more in Mexico, making it the second fastest growing country in the region. In first place is Brazil. Further down the list are countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru, which have also experienced growth in recent years (Source: Statista).

An estimate by Americas Market Intelligence (AMI), states that online sales in Latin America will increase by 29% from 2020 to 2024, generating greater investment and new business.

In Mexico, for example, during 2020, e-commerce will raise US$15 billion. For the Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO), this means an annual growth of 81%, representing 9% of total retail sales. However, during 2021 growth slowed down, reaching only 27%. Despite these new figures, Mexico continues to be among the countries with the highest electronic growth. Globally, it ranks alongside India, Brazil, Russia, Argentina and France.

But not only growth is important, but also user experience and customer loyalty, and this is clear to entrepreneurs, since according to the survey developed by Adobe and Signifyd to 268 retail leaders, 40% of transactions are made through mobile devices.
